Can You Make Money Using Webanswers?

Getting Started

Web Answers, WOW! This is a brilliant site. There are so many question and answer sites out there, like ask.com and yahoo answers and many more, but none of them have thought to pay the people who answer questions on the site.

You cannot make money with webanswers though unless you are committed to writing quality answers, and you are willing to help people who are in need. I say this because in order to link your Google adsense account with webandswers, you must answer 200 questions; although, if you are really the quality writer i know you are, you can achieve 10 awarded answers and connect your account to adsense also. I reached 10 awarded answers before my goal of 200 was reached. It is not to difficult, but if you are unable to get 10 awarded answers, you can reach 200 within five or so days.

Once you have linked your account, all you need to do is be honestly helpful to people. You can ask any question you like, and you normally get at least one response. Webanswers.com has a large community of people who really love helping other, and you could be a part of this.

You can use the dollar bills as toilet paper if you make enough on this site.

Making Money!

NOW THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! The whole reason many people join webanswers if for the money. I am not saying that you can get rich quick or buy that Spider Ferrari, or that five million dollar house you always wanted, but you can make enough easily to buy gas for the month or buy food.

When your answer is awarded, you receive 60% of the Google adsense earnings on that page. The person who asked the question (the same person who gave you the reward) receives 30% of the money. And finally, every time you answer a question and the page does not have an awarded answer, everyone who has answered it shared the income. Each question page is loaded with tons of Google ads. People will click a couple of ads a day for you if you have a lot of answers and questions out there, and you have a good chance of making $5 or more a day by answering just 5 questions a day.

The site is worth checking out. It has many helpful members, and many of them award answers. If you join the site, it is respectful to award an answer to a question that you post. Many people make around $16/hour on this site, and some make much more. I am not saying quit your day job, but it is a way to make some extra money. It is a fun site, and just writing this article made me want to go back online and answer more questions. Good Luck with your earnings and helpful answers!

An Update and a Warning

I mentioned in this hub that Webanswers pays for questions also. I was reading around, and found that it is only a trial process, and i am unaware of how long the trial period will continue for. I also do not know if it will be permanently implemented.

Now for the warning. Do not be discouraged when trying to reach 10 awarded answers or 200 questions. You will get there eventually, and then you can start making money. You will make money on these questions after you connect your adsense account, but any money made before the connect is webanswers'. And finally, when you submit your adsense account to webanswers, it will take a long time for them to approve it. Some people wait more then a month, and others only a day or two. Just be patient and answer a few questions while waiting, but do not call the site a scam, because it is not. You will be able to make $1 - $10 dollars a day very easily. Good Luck!

Referral Program

Webanswers recently incorporated a referral program that allows you to earn 10% of all page impressions that each of your referrals bring in. This program is unique because it uses something called a tracking token. You can create as many tracking tokens as you want, and each token url links to whatever page you want. If someone clicks on that link and ends up signing up to the site, you have referred someone. To give perspective, if you refer someone and they make 200 dollars in two or so months, you will make 20 dollars. If you would like to give it a shot, please check it out using this referral link: http://www.webanswers.com/_iuj0lnvdv.

Hi smanty, I saw your name and work on Best-Reviewer. Yes, WebAnswers is great. I guess you signed up when it was just starting? Because now, they've changed their rules a bit, perhaps to prevent new members from getting discouraged. I've read also that they link Adsense after 10 Awarded Answers, but when I reached 10 answers and just one Awarded, they already sent the email for Adsense linking, so I earned immediately. I was really encouraged because the click was worth $9! I rarely get this kind of click, not even from this site...

I also encouraged my daughter to sign up on WebAnswers, and she was sent an invite after just 10 answers without any Awarded. I advised her though not to apply for an Adsense account immediately and told her to answer more and then apply, as Adsense is now getting stricter.

Best regards, smanty.

Thank you for the feedback Nera, i'm glad Best-Reviewer has done well for me :). Also, i'd like to that you for updating their rules for me. I was not aware how easy it was to link your Adsense account now.

This is a great article! I have just started with webanswers and was wondering if I could earn some money with it and this clears that up. Thank you for giving me hope:)

I clicked on your link and joined Webanswers, so if I should ever make any money on it you should benefit - but at present I am doubtful, because, despite the comments other people have made, this is the message I read when I confirmed my email. "Receive 50 awarded answers and start earning money - Once you earn 50 official awards (which means the person who asked the question selected your answer as the best answer) your account status will move to beginner level. Once you reach this level, you will be able to earn ongoing advertising revenues from all of your awarded threads."

Who knows how long that could take? Now I've started, maybe I'll carry on, but frankly, I'm coming to the conclusion that this is something you should do if you actually enjoy it and have time to kill rather than expecting to make money. I hope I'm wrong there. I'll wait and see if I get an email offering Adsense at an earlier stage, as Nera Woods describes above. If I do, I'll let you know, but that's not what it says!

Further to what I already posted, in another place on the Webanswers site it says "We require all users to have answered 50 questions first before earning money on WebAnswers to ensure all postings and answers add value to our system." This contradicts what you see when you confirm your e-mail address, which says 50 awarded answers. This is just confusing to users. Is it 50 awarded answers or just 50 answers?

@Mazzy Bolero.

I understand your confusion, when my Wife and I first signed up for webanswers I noticed the same thing and was unsure what they meant as well.

We have since reached the requirement for adsense approval and have started earning revenue. You will be happy to know that 50 awarded answers is incorrect, you need 50 answers to start earning, awarded or not. :)

Hi Mazzy thank you for your comment. There is a slight problem with WebAnswers at the moment, where people who ask questions do not generally award their answers. I know many older members who award every question they ask (if there is a good answer).

As for Adsense, I had become a member of the site a while before they offered Adsense as a revenue source, so I had already answered or asked over 150 questions at the time I applied. I had no problem getting into the program though.

The great thing about this site, though, is the ads are very targeted, based on the questions, which provide a lot of clicks. People are looking for answers and sometimes they find them best in the ads that Google shows, which benefits both us and them!

Thanks for your comments. I did get an invite after 50 answers, and now I'm waiting to get my application approved by Adsense. I suspect, though, that the most popular sections are those with legal, financial and real-estate questions, and I can't answer any of those as the questioners are mainly in the USA I live in the UK and it's all different. Still, I've learnt a few interesting things.

You are probably correct, and I can't say that I could answer those questions either, but I've done quite well answering sports questions and other hobby questions. I hope one day it will have as much exposure as Yahoo Answers, but who knows.

I've been on WebAnswers for a couple of weeks now and am loving it. It is a totally different type of writing site to HubPages, but it is ideal if you have a spare ten minutes to answer a question or two. I connected to google adsense a week ago and have can see the pennies slowing adding up. At the moment I think the site is worthwhile joining.

Your hub should encourage a few people to check out WebAnswers...Voted up for sure and shared.

Great article! But the only thing is that you can connect your adsense account when you answer 50 questions, not 200. I just registered some days ago and that's what they told me :)

Great article. I joined the site at the end of January and in February I made $12, so it is very encouraging as I didn't answer as many as I could have. It is a great site and very addictive! Voted up and useful/interesting.

Webanswers is a good learning opportunity for a beginner to web writing. However, you don't really get residual income - if you stop or do less, the page views and money crashes. If you are lucky enough to be an expert in US law, taxes or in medical matters, you might get good residual income for your awarded answers, especially if you backlink them. For the rest of us, that's unlikely. Most questions don't get awarded at all (many are bot questions) and even if they do, awarded answers on many topics won't attract large numbers of views, let alone clicks, even if backlinked. Do it by all means, but for enjoyment and learning. The money for most of us won't ever be a decent hourly rate - but at least you will see some money, which is encouraging.
