#1 - The Baby Sloth

See all 10 photos

This cute little guy is actually a baby sloth. Believe it or not, sloths are actually awake a lot. They do not actually sleep that much, and are very still for self defense reasons.

#2 - The Bunny Rabbit

These little guys can not only move very fast, and are very hard to catch, but also can jump extremely far and high. The world record for a rabbit jump is one meter in the air. The world record for the distance of a rabbit jump is three meters.

#3 - The Kitten and the Duckling

Cats spend about 16 hours during the day sleeping or resting. This is not because they are lazy, but rather because they are saving energy for the big hunt, or what the big hunt for food would be if they lived out in the wild.

#4 - The Mother Duck

Ducks cannot actually feel cold. Ducks are comfortable swimming in cold waters, walking on ice, and living in both cold and warm environments, but of course they prefer warmth.

#5 - Birds in Love

#6

Did you know that there are over 350 species of parrots known in the world? Well now you do.

#7 - The Hedgehog

The spiny coat covering the hedgehog does not actually appear until 2 to 3 days after birth. The mother does not have to deal with spikes inside of her at first.

#8 - The Puppy

Puppies are born deaf, blind, toothless, and do not develop their sense of smell until 3 weeks of age.

#9 - The Licked Squirrel

Squirrels that live in urban settings tend to sharpen their teeth on electrical wires and hoses instead of twigs. Also, a squirrel's long and bushy tail helps they stay balanced when moving up and down trees.

Just Another Photo

As you can see, this photo is not all that cute. When I was down at the grand canyon, I actually came across a condor just sitting on one of the canyon walls. Because these magnificent birds are endangered, I thought it was very cool to see one this close. All of the condors in the grand canyon are tagged, so if you look closely, you may be able to see a yellow tag (click the picture to see a larger size).

When I was in Peru, I had actually seen one of these birds flying in circles high above my head. He looked a lot larger than the one in this picture, and was free without a tag on his wing.
